Emily Hopcian, an award-winning storyteller based between Northern Michigan and Patagonia, focuses on character-driven stories of outdoor adventure and social impact. Over the past decade, she has written for National Geographic Adventure, REI, Osprey, and Sidetracked Magazine, and her first independent short documentary film, "DURGA: Forging a New Trail," won "Best of Festival" at the No Man's Land Film Festival in March 2021. Passionate about sharing local stories with universal themes, Emily thrives in the intersection of nature, adventure, storytelling, creativity, and community. Her expertise extends to offering guidance on adventure and outdoors writing, storytelling, and sharing can't-miss adventures in Argentine and Chilean Patagonia with a focus on local and sustainable travel.

In addition to freelance writing and storytelling, Emily currently works at charity: water. She has previously volunteered with Torres del Paine Legacy Fund and Soccer Without Borders.
